New Houseboats for Flagler Beach, Florida, Marina

The
prototype Flagler houseboat type vessel (foreground) and the first of the
standard models (background) are nearly ready for occupancy at Flagler
Houseboats in Flagler Beach, Florida.
Would
you like to have a houseboat on the Intracoastal Waterway, in
Florida, at an affordable price?
Look no further than the new Flagler Houseboats, designed
by Sponberg Yacht Design Inc., for Flagler Bridge Boatworks and Marina
in Flagler Beach, Florida, just a 40-minute scenic drive south of
historic St. Augustine.
These
houseboat-type vessels are bona fide houseboats and can be provided
with outboard motors for propulsion power.
They are living accommodations that are moored in a
brand new marina in Flagler Beach, FL, which is approved for 50
vessels.
Each
accommodation is built on a plywood and fiberglass hull that is subdivided
into several watertight compartments.
The proprietary method of hull construction was developed by
Mr. Howard Sklar in collaboration with Sponberg Yacht Design to
assure good quality boatbuilding standards and a long life with the minimum amount of maintenance.
Some standard designs have been developed so far, and these may
be customized inside and out to suit individual tastes.
For
more information on the design of the Flagler Houseboats including
the floor plans for the prototype and small homes, go to the Powerboat
design page on this website, or you can contact Mr. Howard Sklar at the marina directly by phone at
386-931-2020 (cell) for details on purchasing a floating barge.
LATE
NEWS (June 2008): The houseboats recently have been redesigned
to be built on a new fiberglass hull design by SYDI.
Accommodations will be 16' wide by 52' long, single story only,
propulsion by outboard engines. Watch this space for continuing
news.
