STOCK PLANS

Over the years, Sponberg Yacht Design has developed some stock boat plans that owners and builders may buy for their own construction.  Purchase of the plans entitles the buyer to build one boat to those plans.  If a buyer would like to build more than one boat, he or she must make arrangements with Sponberg Yacht Design to pay another plan purchase fee for each boat built.  The purchase price, then, is like a royalty that we would normally collect on production boat designs.

Of the boats listed here, Bagatelle and Corroboree are custom designs created for specific owners, and now the plans are available to the general public.  The help of a professional boatbuilder to build these designs is highly recommended.  The other two designs, the Delft 25 and Halfling, were created specifically for the stock plan list.  Customers handy with general carpentry tools would be able to build these designs themselves.

Unfortunately, Sponberg Yacht Design is not set up to take credit cards.  I do accept personal checks and travelers checks, international money orders, or cash.  All checks must be in US dollars drawn on a US bank and made out to “Sponberg Yacht Design Inc.”  Please contact us to make arrangements to purchase the plans for any of the following boat designs.

Bagatelle

The lightweight racer/cruiser is also featured in the Sailboat Designs Section.  It is available for strip-planked and veneer wood-epoxy construction.

Corroboree

Born of Eric Sponberg's expertise with Freedom Yachts, his first yacht design is still sailing with the original owners 20 years later.  This boat is built with strip-planked and veneer wood-epoxy.

Delft 25

So named because it looks like a Dutch shoe, the Delft 25 is designed specifically for DIY construction in plywood.  It has a wood-epoxy and carbon fiber free-standing wingmast rig.

Halfling

A first-timer's excellent boat building project, this little sailing pram can be made in one piece or two for compact stowage on a mother vessel.
